Biological
Services
BonTerra Consulting uses its collective expertise in biological
field surveys and assessments, endangered species investigations,
and short-term and long-term construction monitoring to provide
biological services that successfully comply with local, state,
and federal regulations and requirements. Regular coordination with
resource and regulatory agencies ensures that biological programs
prepared by BonTerra Consulting fully comply with local, California
Department of Fish and Game (CDFG), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
(USFWS), and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) requirements.
BonTerra has the technical background, experience, and necessary
permits to provide the following services:
- Sensitive Species Surveys including the coastal
California gnatcatcher, arroyo southwestern toad, least Bell’s
vireo, Quino checkerspot butterfly, special status plant species
and many others.
- Biological Agency Permitting under provisions
of the federal Endangered Species Act, including Section 4(d)
(permit to remove coastal sage scrub), Section 7 (consultation
with the USFWS), and Section 10(a) (permit to "take"
endangered or threatened species).
- Construction Monitoring for projects with sensitive
habitat areas and/or sensitive species located within or immediately
adjacent to project areas.
- Tree Surveys according to established protocols
or tree ordinances.
- Habitat Conservation Planning for projects
with potential impacts to threatened or endangered species.
- Wildlife Movement Corridor Studies using traditional
methods of surveying for sign, as well as use motion sensor cameras
and wildlife track plates.
