BonTerra Consulting Celebrated its Tenth Anniversary
January 03, 2007
2006 was a historic year in BonTerra Consulting’s journey through the challenges of the southern California marketplace as it marked its tenth year in business. Joan Patronite Kelly, AICP, Managing Principal and CEO, noted that the ten year anniversary is a major milestone that “warrants a pause to reflect on where we’ve come from and where we’re going.”
Pausing is something extraordinary for BonTerra Consulting. The company, which began with nine employees, has come a long way in ten years. It began in a small office in Newport Beach, California with some important public and private sector clients. Initial services were focused on providing CEQA/NEPA documentation, biological resources, and restoration planning services. As the number of clients increased, the company’s employee team also expanded. In 1998, BonTerra moved to its current Costa Mesa office. The Regulatory Services and Marketing Departments were created in 2001, and the Cultural Resources and GIS Departments were created in 2002. The capable staff (that now totals 53 companywide) in these departments have helped BonTerra Consulting to better serve its clients.
An ever-expanding client base in Los Angeles County and adjacent areas prompted the opening of the Pasadena office in September 2002, and has been going strong since. In January 2006, newer projects and clients signaled a need to open another office in Temecula to better serve the Inland Empire region. As we at BonTerra Consulting reflect on how far we have come, we will continue to look forward to identifying better ways to serve our clients throughout southern California.
